My Story - Part Two
Sheriff Mohamed was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the eldest son of Fatuma Rahmeto and Mohammed Hassen Worqicho. From an early age, he was shaped by his father’s example of hard work and entrepreneurship and his mother’s generosity and compassion. He began his education at Abadir Islamic School and JFK Private School, later studying drafting at a technical high school—an early step toward his lifelong career in engineering.
After working in Addis Ababa, he received a scholarship to study in Japan, which opened the door to higher education in the United States. He pursued his studies at Texas Southern University and the University of Houston, balancing academics with full-time work. His professional path took him through Houston and New Jersey before he co-founded United Engineers, Inc., a firm that has thrived for nearly three decades.
Beyond his career, Sheriff is deeply engaged in community service and Ethiopian soccer leagues. Together with his wife, Zeineb, he has raised three sons, all accomplished professionals. He remains committed to strengthening ties with Ethiopia through continued investment and connection.
