About Ato Abera
Ato Abera Sisay holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Robert Morris University. He is a founding member of the Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago (ECAC) and has served the organization in numerous leadership capacities, including Vice Treasurer, Treasurer, Vice President, and President. Over the years, he has also chaired both the Fundraising Committee and the Membership Committee.
Beyond ECAC, Ato Abera has contributed significantly to the broader Ethiopian community. He has served on the Board and Executive Committee of the Ethiopian National Congress and Ethiopiawinnet, and currently serves as Secretary of the Board for the Global Alliance for the Rights of Ethiopians. He also continues to play an active role as a member of the ECAC Advisory Board and the Ethiopian Solidarity Movement Council.
Passionate about community service, Ato Abera remains deeply engaged with various non-profit initiatives. In his personal time, he enjoys playing volleyball and chess.
